Industrial Lithium Battery Packs for Equipment Manufacturers

Request a custom battery quote Configure your pack requirements

Lithium Battery Company designs and builds custom lithium-ion battery packs for manufacturers of industrial equipment. Industrial packs are judged on uptime, not spec-sheet peaks: they get charged at odd hours, run hot or cold, and take vibration every shift. We engineer the cells, BMS, enclosure and charging around your machine's duty cycle, then build to an approved specification. We've been doing this since 2014, with hundreds of thousands of packs produced for OEM programs.

Catalog packs start at 10 units and custom designs at 25 units. We work with equipment manufacturers and industrial programs, business buyers.

Industrial equipment we design packs for

What makes an industrial battery pack different

  • Duty cycle over nameplate. We size from what the machine actually does in a shift: continuous load, peaks from motors and pumps, idle time and charging windows. A pack sized only on average current often trips or ages early.
  • Charging in the real world. Industrial packs get opportunity-charged at breaks, left on chargers over weekends, or charged in cold buildings. The charger profile, BMS limits and charging schedule are designed together. LiFePO4 must not be charged below freezing without heating or reduced current, and the BMS enforces that.
  • Temperature. Equipment bays run hot, and outdoor or cold-storage equipment runs cold. Cell choice, thermal path and BMS temperature limits follow the real environment, not lab conditions.
  • Vibration, shock and ingress. Cell fixing, interconnects, busbars and connectors are designed for continuous vibration. Enclosures are specified to the dust and water exposure your machine sees.
  • Communication with the machine. Controllers increasingly need state of charge, current limits and fault codes from the battery. We specify the BMS communications (CAN or another protocol) so the machine can derate or stop safely instead of shutting down without warning.
  • Service and replacement. Field technicians need clear labeling, safe disconnects and a known replacement part number. We build that into the design.

LiFePO4 or NMC for industrial equipment?

Most industrial equipment uses LiFePO4 (LFP). It handles daily deep cycling and warm enclosures well, and its thermal stability suits machines that work near people. NMC fits portable or weight-limited industrial equipment where energy per kilogram is the tighter constraint. Compare them on our LFP vs NMC chemistry page, or read LiFePO4 vs lead-acid for industrial equipment if you're converting an existing machine.

Replacing lead-acid in industrial machines

Many industrial machines were designed around lead-acid. Converting to lithium means re-checking the voltage window, the charger profile, the controller's low-voltage cut-off and, in some machines, the weight the battery adds as ballast. We review all of it before we quote. See lead-acid to LFP replacement.

Industrial voltage classes

Industrial machines mostly run in the 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V classes, with higher voltages for larger drive systems. Browse reference designs by voltage: 12V, 24V, 36V, 48V, 72V and 96V. A reference design is a starting point. We confirm your requirements before we freeze the specification.

From prototype to production

We support prototype and pilot builds for fit, function and charging validation, then volume production under a frozen design with change control. Lead times run from weeks to months depending on cells, design scope and validation, and your quote confirms them. See prototype to production and our custom battery pack manufacturer page.

Frequently asked questions

What industrial equipment do you build lithium battery packs for?

Cleaning machines such as floor scrubbers and sweepers, material-handling equipment including forklifts and AGVs, industrial vehicles and platforms, instrumentation and field equipment, and backup and stationary power systems.

Is LiFePO4 or NMC better for industrial equipment?

Most industrial equipment uses LiFePO4 because it handles daily deep cycling and warm enclosures well. NMC fits portable or weight-limited equipment where energy per kilogram matters more.

Can a lithium pack replace the lead-acid battery in our machine?

Often, yes. We re-check the voltage window, charger profile, low-voltage cut-off and any ballast the battery provides before quoting a replacement.

Can the battery report state of charge and faults to our controller?

Yes. The BMS can be specified with CAN or another protocol to report state of charge, current limits and faults to your machine.

What are the minimum order quantities?

Catalog packs start at 10 units. Custom designs and modified catalog packs start at 25 units.
