How should we specify a battery for cold-weather operation?
Send the coldest operating and charging temperatures, duty cycle and available heater power. Self-heating LFP options, including -20°C / -4°F requirements, are reviewed for the proposed configuration; the heater, BMS and charger must be specified together.
What documentation should a Canadian OEM request?
Request the proposed pack’s UN 38.3 transport summary, SDS and Class 9 freight documentation. UL and CSA alignment requirements are reviewed against your approved design and market; this is not a blanket product approval.
What should we send for a Canadian OEM quote?
Send the voltage window, capacity or runtime, continuous and peak current, enclosure limits, BMS communications, delivery country and program volume. Include the first-order schedule and cold-weather charging requirements.
