What should an OEM battery pilot build prove?

An OEM battery pilot build should prove that the approved pack can be produced repeatedly—not merely that one sample works. The pilot should test the design package, material controls, assembly process, firmware, inspection points, functional testing, documentation, packaging, and the production assumptions needed for the next release.

Catalog reference-design programs begin at 10 units and custom programs begin at 25 units. LBC does not quote individual retail battery orders.

No. A pilot can support validation and certification planning, but required third-party testing and approvals remain specific to the product, market, shipping mode, and customer contract.

Should the final production partner build the pilot lot?

Usually, yes, when the goal is to qualify the production process. If an earlier engineering partner builds samples, a separate production-intent pilot may still be required.
