What is a build-to-print battery pack program?

A build-to-print battery program uses the customer's approved drawings, bill of materials, firmware, labels, test methods, and acceptance criteria as the production baseline. LBC reviews the package for manufacturability and sourcing risk, then coordinates a qualified production path with formal control of deviations, substitutions, and changes.

Catalog reference-design programs begin at 10 units and custom programs begin at 25 units. LBC does not quote individual retail battery orders.

Does build-to-print mean no engineering review is needed?

No. The approved design remains the baseline, but a manufacturability, sourcing, safety, and documentation review is still needed before a responsible production commitment.

Can a production partner substitute an unavailable cell?

Only under the program's approved substitution and change process. A cell change can affect electrical, thermal, lifecycle, mechanical, safety, shipping, and certification performance.

Who owns the battery design in a build-to-print program?

Ownership depends on the customer's documents and agreements. LBC can work under an NDA and use the design only within the agreed sourcing and production scope.

Can build-to-print support a second source?

Yes. It is often used to establish an alternate source, but the new partner, materials, process, and resulting pack still require an appropriate qualification and approval plan.
